Earth Day Eco-Friendly wedding in DC
Katie Martin, of Elegance and Simplicity, cares about our environment. She cares so much so that she created a group of wedding vendors that offer eco-friendly products and are using environmentally-friendly practices in their business. That group is called the Green Wedding Consortium and in February we had a bridal show at the Decatur House. As a group, we decided to give away a free wedding to one couple and that couple would be married on April 22nd, Earth Day. That is exactly what happened last week when our winners, Dana and David were married.
Here's who donated their services:
Katie Martin, Elegance and Simplicity: wedding planning and flowers
Jessica Piscitelli: Videography
Promise for the Savvy Bride: Dress
Decatur House: Reception Venue
Debbie Delardi, Cakes By Design: Cake
And last but not least, I worked with my good friend and extremely talented photographer Tom Van Veen of Documentary Associates to cover this wedding.
Here is a link to the video Jessica did for the couple.
Congrats to the couple and enjoy the photos:

A funny moment during the ceremony when David decided it would be better for the congregation to sing one of their songs:

The couple took a pedi-cab from the church to the recpetion, a very eco-friendly commute:
